Jessie Dinan p1

Jessie Dinan is a Brooklyn-based street photographer who captures the emotions of people in the neighbourhoods of New York City. She travels by subway and takes her film camera around places like Coney Island, Williamsburg, the West Village and Union Square. The photos have a lot of movement and show the richness of humanity in New York. The people’s faces are striking: pensive, happy, surprised or angry. Kids swim in a fountain in Washington Square Park ; a woman in pearls yells out as she enters the cold sea on Coney Island; on a winter’s day in Midtown, a man in a coat looks around, his eyes in the shadows of his hat. All captured at just the right moment. See jessiedinan.com.
